Is the offer of company integration management mandatory?
Since 01.05.2004, employers have been required to have a company integration management system (§ 167 SGB IX). If an employee is unable to work continuously or repeatedly for more than six weeks, the employer must have a management system to ensure that this situation is recognised and it must enable the employee to take measures to ensure a good and healthy return to work. He must offer him the measures.
This applies to micro and small enterprises as well as to medium-sized companies or large corporations in Frankfurt. For small companies, it is advisable to involve an external service provider in the BEM process at an early stage.
However, the employee is not obliged to participate in the company integration management, his participation is voluntary.
